Youth Unemployment Rises

18 November 2011

With the national unemployment reaching over 1 million young people nationwide, the future seems bleak for those aged 18 to 24 wanting to enter the job market.

According to the Daily Echo, youth unemployment has increased a staggering 116% in Southampton alone and these startling figures reflect the amount of young people who we see access our drop-in centres on a daily basis. It's a no win situation for young people who can't get experience without a job, and can't get a job without experience.

That's why we've joined forces with the Southampton City Council to offer a new service to meet the needs of our job seekers.

Specialist Youth Support Workers will be working alongside No Limits staff within each No Limits open access drop-in centre from 5th December 2011 to help young people with CV preparation, interview skills and offer support with personal development.
